This presentation explores the paschal mystery relationship between the wood of the cradle and the wood of the cross, and how the season of Advent-Christmas is completed in our Easter celebration of death and resurrection.

So it is with the wealth of traditions crammed into our Advent-Christmas “ritual closet." In this workshop we’ll open that closet and dig around to see what’s there beyond a wreath, a kneeling Santa, and shepherds in bathrobes.

Embracing the Vision: Sacraments that Form Us in His Image and Likeness

The General Directory for Catechesis [GDC] explains that “catechesis is intrinsically bound to every liturgical and sacramental action” but that there has been a weak and fragmentary link between catechesis and liturgy. A truly authentic catechesis for the Advent/Christmas season has the potential to lead the whole parish community into the depths and richness of the seasons. This presentation describes a liturgical catechesis for the parish that leads the community beyond a minimalistic understanding of the Advent/Christmas season into an authentic journey of conversion and transformation.
